Grievance Cell is functioning in DHRPC at the District Police Hdqrs, Puri to hear and redress the public grievance in Puri district.Citizens Interaction There is interaction with various citizens committees, peace committees, residents associations, various other associations and non-governmental organizations and other components of civil society. There is continuous public interaction at the police station level and field units. The police officers, during tours and night halts also interact with the local people, get acquainted with their problems and take remedial measures. Grievance redress mechanism is a part and parcel of the functioning of Puri police. In order to be accountable, responsive and user friendly police has established an efficient and effective grievance redress mechanism at district police Headquarters, Puri. In fact it is the gauge to measure efficiency and effectiveness as it provides feedback on the working of police administration in the state as a whole.

The purpose of grievance redressed mechanism functioning at district police Headquarters is to ensure that common citizens who feel aggrieved about the way they have been treated by local police. Also the employees of Puri,District police raise their problems/complaints with their employer at Reserve Police Office, Puri (T) Reserve Inspector of Police Puri.Grievance Day.In Puri District grievance day is fixed on each working Friday. On the grievance day the aggrieved police personnel are being heard by the Superintendent Of Police, Puri. Joint Grievance at Collectorate Grievance cell at Block level.Joint grievance hearing is conducted by District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police, Puri on each Monday in Puri at Collectorate grievance Cell. Also in a month a Block level public grievance is heard being fixed by Collector and letters of the grievance is forwarded to the concerned offices for necessary action at their end. The Superintendent of Police, Puri heard the public grievance on every working day and take immediate steps for redressal of the grievance. the police people at PS level have been sensitized and made accountable, responsive & people friendly to the general grievance of the public in general.
