I take this opportunity to convey my best wishes to all residents of Puri as well as the members of District Police, Puri and their families. I extend my regard also to the countless pilgrims and tourists attracted to Puri from all over the world.

Puri is known throughout the world as the abode of Lord Jagannath. Adding to the charm of this ancient town are the enigmatic Sun temple of Konark, the fabulous beaches and the striking beauty of the largest brackish water lake in India, the Chilika. Puri is also a thriving centre of many cultural art forms and a bird watchers’ paradise. It has a moderate climate owing to the geographical location.

Police has a long tradition of service to the people, which District Police, Puri strives to carry forward. We also have to continuously improve our performance and service delivery. I am extremely glad that Puri District Police is Launching a website very soon. I am certain that this endeavour will add to the effectiveness of the Police by bringing it closer to the public. It will also enable Police to gather feedback from general public for providing better policing, and in the long run enrich the pride of the Police department.
