Tourist AID Post is functioning since 29th July 2004 in Puri District. It is functioning under the control of IIC Seabeach Police Station .

 

 

Tourist Guide

1. While travelling in/to various tourist places of/around Puri in local buses, trains etc. be aware of pick pocketers and snatchers.
2. Never leave your luggage, briefcase or other items unattended.
3. Don’t keep your wallet in the rear pocket. Keep it in an inside jacket pocket or side trouser pocket
4. All valuables and important papers (jewelry, passports, return tickets, etc) should be kept in your hotel's safe deposit box. Never leave them unattended in your room
5. Avoid carrying large sums of cash on your person.
6. Don’t take the advice of taxi drivers for the purpose of accommodation
7. Never ever purchase air/ rail/ bus tickets through strangers or unauthorized travel agents/ tour operators, also known as touts. They are not at all reliable. Buy tickets from the authorized centers only.
8. Do not disclose any personal / private matters before anybody
9. In a bus or train, be aware of people who look or act suspiciously, raise alarm if need be.
10. Before arrival please pre-book Hotel, lodge, guest house etc. during festive occasion to avoid disappointment / difficulties..
11. Do not go to any lonely place it may cause harm
12. Govt. approved english speaking guides are available at fixed charges at all important tourist centres. The Govt. of Orissa tourist Offices can be contacted by tourists for the services of approved guides. Please consult the nearest Govt. of Orissa tourist Office. Unapproved guides are also available in most tourist places, but it is advised to ask the guides for the identity card
13. Change currency only from official money changers
14. Always respect religious shrines and places of worship
15. Obey the rules & regulations while going to Temple.
16. Never leave firearms in a vehicle that is unattended
17. While moving in temple, sea beach etc. if you face trouble please take help / assistance of nearest police personnel on duty
18. Your mobile, shoe, belt, camera and wallet keep properly in shoe stand
19. Always take help of Life Guards while enjoying Sea bath as the Bay of Bengal on Puri coast is highly tidal sea

23. Do not enjoy sea bath under influence of alcohol or intoxication & also do not try to go to beach after 8 P.M.
24. Remain alert and vigilant. for suspicious bags, packages or vehicles; people acting suspiciously at stations and airports, and report any concerns to the police or the appropriate authorities.
