Sports and games have been encouraged as a means to inculcate camaraderie, team spirit and leadership since (April 01,1936) inception of the organization. Officers both Europeans and Indians participated in team games football and hockey with the men. Some of the remarkable sporting activities during the pre-independence period were achievements of the Cuttack district Police Cycle team under the then SP Mr.Hargrieve. A wrestling team of Puri Police became well known all over the state. During that period a member of the Cuttack district police team SI BhramarabaraSahu went on a cycle tour to Rawalpindi with the legendary leader ShriBijuPattanaik.

 

Organisation of 67th State Police Kabadi Championship:

Puri district had organised 67th State Police Kabadi Championship in the year – 2010, different districts of Odisha participated the championship.

APR Const/28 Ramesh Chandra Parida participated in Kayaking and canoeing in 33rd National Games Guwahati held from 9th to 18th February 2007.

APR Const/28 Ramesh Chandra Paridasecured bronze medal in V National Games Manipur in 500 mtrs event held from 14th to 25th February 1999.

APR Const/28 Ramesh Chandra Paridaplaced thired in 1000 Mtrs event in the 5th All India Police Water Sports Championship held at Bhopal Madhyapradeshheld from 17th to 20thNovember 2005.
