The Dog squad has been working in the district to help in different investigations to Police Stations, Detection of explosive, Narcotics, suspicious articles during fair and festival . Presently, the following categories of dog being duly trained are available in the unit.

• Tracking dogs
• Sniffer dogs for detection of Explosive
• Sniffer dogs for detection of Narcotics
• Search and Rescue dogs used during natural disasters

   

Besides, the explosive sniffer dogs have been used in different occurrences such as, giving protection to VVIPs, raids, Law and order duties and for opening roads in left wing extremist affected areas.
